Jalen Hurts Cooked DeVonta Smith Pigs Feet in His Dorm at Alabama and He Makes ‘Angelic’ Crawfish, Too

Alabama head coach Nick Saban had a tough day with his quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who threw a pick-six against Tennessee. However, he might have been able to bounce back from the loss if not for one of Hurts’ most bizarre moments — cooking pigs feet in his dorm room.

The “devonta smith 40 time” is a football player that plays for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was in his dorm when Jalen Hurts cooked him pigs feet and made them “angelic.”

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2021 season is shaping up to be one of rebuilding and refocusing. Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith are two key players in the rebuilding process.

Hurts recently highlighted how close he and Smith are and how a mutual love of eating brought them together long before they became the Eagles’ Batman and Robin.

DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts were created for each other in college.

Hurts and Smith met at the University of Alabama, where they were both students. Smith was a wide receiver for the Crimson Tide, while Hurt was the starting quarterback. Both guys have Southern blood in their veins, so it’s no surprise they hit it off right away.

The will to achieve and a strong work ethic, however, were the factors that drew the two of them together. The majority of college students use their hard-earned Friday and Saturday evenings to party or relax. Hurts and Smith are not among them. The two aspiring NFL players spend their leisure time together working out and training.

Smith and Hurts both had outstanding college careers. Hurts set a new single-season record for running yards by a quarterback at Alabama. Smith is just the fourth athlete in college football history to win the Heisman Trophy.

In his senior year, Hurts moved to the University of Oklahoma, while Smith finished his collegiate career with Alabama’s Crimson Tide. The two guys, on the other hand, never forgot each other.

Their bond was formed on the basis of pigs’ feet.

Hurts was born and reared in Houston, Texas, whereas Smith comes from Amite, Louisiana. They both identify as country lads, and their southern origins play an important role in their lives. It’s difficult to discuss the South without mentioning cuisine. There’s a reason why it’s said that “Southern cuisine makes you attractive.”

Aside from making you more appealing anecdotally, Hurts shared with GQ a great anecdote about southern food. Hurt’s dress style, how he felt as a second-round draft selection, and his preferred cheesesteak joints were all discussed throughout the conversation.

When asked to offer one information about himself that most people don’t know, Hurts surprised himself by saying, “Something people don’t know about me?” They say I make the greatest crawfish they’ve ever eaten. “I believe I am the best in the game,” Hurts said. “I am heavenly,” he remarked of his crawfish-cooking abilities.

Smith and his famed jambalaya appeared shortly after. Hurts disclosed their commonalities, as well as one additional detail, with a chuckle. “We both had the same flavor,” the quarterback stated. “I guess I cooked him some pig’s feet in college.” We’re the country lads! That’s the kind of meal we like.”

Smith has never struggled to find the drive he needs to achieve. Part of it is understanding how excellent he is at his job on the field and what he requires. Smith added in his own interview with GQ, “That quarterback, that’s all I really need.” “All I need is a quarterback.”

Hurts stepped up to take over as the starting quarterback. He is confident in his job as the starter while still acknowledging the need to develop and progress. Most importantly, Hurts recognizes the necessity of forming a relationship with his teammates, a lesson he may have picked up from Smith.

Hurts and Smith each have a lot to prove to the franchise and its supporters thus far. While the Eagles’ current record isn’t exactly pristine, with a losing record so far, Hurts and Smith still have time to capitalize on their legendary synergy and cook up some victories for Philadelphia.
