Current Stat Leaders Per Category: Kevin Durant Leads In Points, Russell Westbrook Leads In Turnovers

The NBA season is underway and Kevin Durant has been putting up his typical efficient numbers, but he’s not the only one. Russell Westbrook continues to be a force in nearly every statistical category as well, so what would happen if we combined the two players?

The NBA has been going through a transition period over the past few years, as traditional big men have become more and more outdated. In order to stay competitive in this changing landscape, teams are looking towards smaller players with speed and perimeter skills. The trend started back when LeBron James was drafted into Cleveland from Miami, but it began to pick up steam after Russell Westbrook took home the MVP award for last season.

The “nba stat leaders 2021” is a list of the current stats leaders in each category for the NBA. The list includes Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and many more.

We’re seeing some recognizable faces at the top of the statistics leaderboards thus far. Others are a surprising challenger for several of the league’s most important statistical categories. We have MVP candidates, All-Star candidates, and a few dark horses that have risen to the top. Regardless, the start of the 2021-2022 season has been intriguing.

While these figures may change over time, it’s always interesting to observe who is at the top of the leaderboard at the beginning. The season is just one-eighth of the way done for most clubs, since they have played over ten games. Let’s look at the offensive and defensive leaders in terms of points, rebounds, assists, thefts, blocks, field-goal %, three-point field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and turnovers.

Kevin Durant (points) PPG = 29.5

Durant has been near-flawless this season, making him a strong candidate for his first scoring crown since 2014. From 2010 through 2012, Durant earned the scoring championship, as well as his MVP season in 2014. Durant hasn’t won an MVP Award in over eight years, but if he keeps playing like this, he might end up with his second overall pick.

The Nets have already lost Kyrie Irving, and James Harden has had a slow start. The squad would be in worse condition if it weren’t for Durant. Durant, on the other hand, has been shooting lights out. Durant took 12 shots and scored 30 points in his most recent game, shooting over 90% from the field. He’s the only Nets player in 40 years to score at least 30 points while shooting over 90% from the field. Furthermore, Durant is shooting 58 percent from the field, indicating that he has been lethal all over the court.

Stephen Curry (27.6 PPG) and Paul George (26.7 PPG) are honorable mentions.

Rudy Gobert 15.9 RPG in Rebounds

For the fourth time in his career, Gobert is making a strong case for Defensive Player of the Year. If that occurs, Gobert will be in some select company, but for now, he is not just blocking bullets, but also looking after the class. In terms of total defensive rebounds, Gobert now leads the league.

Gobert is tied for fourth in offensive rebounds and is just five rebounds behind Jonas Valanciunas. Gobert has at least 20 rebounds twice this season and has come close to missing three times by grabbing 19 rebounds in a game. Gobert, the undisputed cornerstone of the Jazz defense, is playing like one of the league’s top centers.

Jonas Valanciunas (14.0 RPG), Nikola Jokic (13.6 RPG), Jonas Valanciunas (14.0 RPG), Jonas Valanciunas (14.0 RPG), Jonas Valanciunas (14.0 R (RPG)

Chris Paul (assists) APG = 10.9

The Valley of the Suns is a place where the sun shines brightly

Is it possible for a 36-year-old to slow down? Paul seems to have missed the message, as he is on track to average double-digit assists for the first time since his Clippers days in 2015-2016. Paul looks to be getting along better than ever with the Phoenix Suns right now. Paul has at least 13 assists in four straight games, including a season-high 18 against the Pelicans.

Paul’s club has some great weapons in Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Jae Crowder. After all, the Suns reached the NBA Finals last season and returned their entire starting lineup. Paul has been the league’s leading assist provider four times in his career, but not since 2014-2015. Steve Nash, who was 36 at the time, was the last 36-year-old to lead the NBA in assists per game in 2010-2011.

Trae Young (9.3 APG), Russell Westbrook (honorable mention) (8.9 APG)

Alex Caruso has a lot of steals. SPG 2.6

NBC Sports contributed to this article.

It was unexpected to see Alex Caruso at the top of the steals list. Caruso is on the bench, but he’s been called upon to finish games. Caruso has played a key role in helping the Chicago Bulls rethink their defense as they attempt to make the playoffs this season.

Caruso is a personable, energetic glue man who has sparked the second unit’s development. What jumps out about him is how hard he hustles, which translates to defensive steals. We’ll see whether Caruso can keep his lead in thefts as the season develops, but it’s certainly a fun underdog tale.

Paul George (2.5 SPG), Gary Trent Jr. (Honorable Mention) (2.5 SPG)

Myles Turner’s Blocks BPG 3.2

Headlines That Hook’em –

Myles Turner has returned to attempt to reclaim what he lost the previous year. Turner only appeared in 47 games due to injuries, but he averaged 3.4 blocks per game. Turner has surpassed the 3.0 blocks per game mark in 11 games this season. Turner has twice led the league in blocks, so he’s aiming for his third crown, including back-to-back.

Turner might be on the move this season, according to the Pacers. He’s a trade target, and as a rim protector, he’d be ideal for a competitive club. If he continues to play like this, the Pacers might receive a king’s ransom in exchange, including numerous first-round draft selections.

Al Horford (2.4 BPG), Anthony Davis (Honorable Mention) (2.3 BPG)

Robert Williams’ field goal percentage 72.2 percent FG

The city of Boston exploded in delight when the Celtics re-signed Williams. Williams, like a young Al Horford, is an underestimated player with intangibles. It’s debatable if Will Williams develops into a recognized veteran and All-Star, but he’s doing well when given the opportunity to shoot the ball. Williams has made at least 70 percent of his shots from the field five times this season.

Remember that Williams is shooting the ball 6.0 times per game, slightly behind Rudy Gobert’s 6.8. That implies Williams is roughly three out of four times getting chances and cashing them in. Williams is not the same player as Nikola Jokic or Domantas Sabonis, who must shoot roughly 15 times per game, but he is an important role player for the Celtics who performs his job when given the opportunity.

Rudy Gobert (72.0 FG%) and Jarrett Allen were named honorable mentions (68.7 FG percent )

3-percentage point – Eric Gordon 51.33% of the population (min. four 3PA)

1626184286_981_1-Player-That-Will-Be-Traded-From-Every-NBA-Team

Technically, Jonas Valanciunas is the league’s best shooter at 54.5 percent, but he only tries 1.8 three-pointers per game. Nemanja Bjelica has a 52.2 percent shooting percentage on 2.1 attempts. Eric Gordon is the leader if we split the competition into players who make at least four three-pointers each night. Gordon has come a long way and is now arguing that he should leave Houston.

Last season, Gordon made 32.9 percent of his three-point attempts. Gordon has also only shot over 40% from three-point range once in his career, which was with the Pelicans in 2014-2015. You may concoct all the conspiracy theories you want, but Gordon is on the verge of landing a new job. Gordon is proven that he can shoot from beyond the arc with 4.3 three-point attempts per game.

Carmelo Anthony (50.0 3PT percent), Seth Curry (honorable mention) (48.3 3PT percent )

Bradley Beal’s free throw percentage is 97.5 percent.

1636761244_500_Current-Stat-Leaders-Per-Category-Kevin-Durant-Leads-In-Points

Awestruck Wiz

Beal may only try 4.0 times a game at the line, but he converts at a high rate. As of now, his 3.9 made free throws per game have helped him have the best free throw % in the league. It’s hardly surprising that Beal has the highest percentage in the NBA. After finishing second in the scoring contest last season, we know he can find a way to put the ball in the basket.

Beal is averaging fewer points this season, but he has a better supporting cast, which is why the Wizards are off to such a quick start. The Wizards will be able to win games late if Beal can continue to convert at a high rate. This would also be a career best for Beal, who has never had a season when he shot over 90% from the charity line.

Spencer Dinwiddie (96.4 FT%) and Jaren Jackson Jr. received honorable mentions (96.2 FT percent )

Russell Westbrook’s turnovers TO 5.3

Golf Digest is a publication dedicated to golf.

A fun truth about playmakers is that they often have the ball in their hands. The curse is that they are prone to losing control of the ball. Westbrook is noted for his turnovers because to his explosiveness, which allows him to put his head down and go through a wall. Both Westbrook and James Harden have too much for basketball at times when it comes to these figures.

Since 2008-2009, Westbrook has led the NBA in turnovers five times. In that period, Harden has led the NBA in turnovers six times. Steve Nash and John Wall are the only players who have led the NBA in turnovers since then. You must have faith in your point guard if you want anything to happen. Athletes and coaches have a high level of trust.

James Harden (4.7 TO), Paul George (Honorable Mention) (4.6 TO)

NBA Rumors: The Boston Celtics Might Have Found A Way To Get Ben Simmons Without Trading Jaylen Brown

“Bulls In 6,” says Scottie Pippen, who played for the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.

“I Will Not Do It Unless You Include The Starting 5 Since I Didn’t Do This By Myself… I Don’t Want To Overshadow Anyone,” Michael Jordan once said of a Disney commercial he turned down because his teammates weren’t there.

If Kevin Garnett had joined the Celtics sooner, he believes they might have won ‘two or three’ titles.

Damian Lillard for Kyrie Irving, Bruce Brown, and Nicolas Claxton is a blockbuster trade that would benefit both the Nets and the Trail Blazers.
