A 3-pointer is a shot taken from beyond the three-point line, in basketball. A successful attempt makes it worth two points instead of one.
This topic asks who has made the most 3 pointers in history on an NBA level, so I will be calculating this by total number and not per season or even game to make it easier for people to compare players across eras. With that said, here are some interesting facts about NBA shooting:
“Most 3-pointers in NBA History” is a question that has been asked many times. The most accurate answer to this question is “most 3-pointers in nba 2021.”
In the NBA, three-point shooting has evolved from a talent to a necessity. Players are expected to make long-range shots at a high rate now more than ever, particularly after Stephen Curry began demonstrating how dangerous a player can be when they are great from beyond the arc.
So, since 3-point shooting has become the NBA’s king, who are the all-time leaders and who has made the most in the league’s history?
Reggie Miller is the NBA’s third-leading 3-point shooter, but James Harden is just behind him.

Reggie Miller was formerly the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers, holding the record for many years after concluding his career with 2,560.
Miller was an automatic shooter for the Indiana Pacers for over two decades, hitting 39.5 percent of his long-range tries and averaging 4.7 points per game. During his career, he led the NBA in 3-point field goals two times, with a career high of 229 in 1996-97.
Miller, on the other hand, might drop to No. 4 in the near future.
With 2,506 points (as of Dec. 8, 2021), James Harden is just behind him on the all-time record, and considering that he hit 121 threes in only 44 games during the 2020-21 season, the 2017-18 MVP will certainly overtake him this year.
Harden has hit 320 3-pointers in his career with three separate teams, including 320 as a third option with the Oklahoma City Thunder and 2,029 in eight seasons with the Houston Rockets. Since joining the Brooklyn Nets for the 2020-21 season, he has produced over 150 points. The Beard hits 36.3 percent of his long-range tries and has led the NBA in 3-point field goals three times in his career.
On the all-time list, Stephen Curry is ranked second.

During his famous career with the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry has already established that he is the best shooter in NBA history.
Curry is second all-time in 3-pointers made in the NBA, but he won’t stay there for long, since he has only made 2,958 in his career (as of Dec. 8, 2021). That’s just 15 less than the NBA’s all-time high.
Steph has made all of his threes with the Warriors and has led the NBA in 3-point field goals six times, including an NBA-record 402 in 2015-16. In fact, the three-time NBA champion and two-time NBA MVP ranks first, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth all-time in single-season 3-pointers made.
Curry’s shooting, on the other hand, is renowned for the speed with which he makes his shots. In his career, Steph has made 43.2 percent of his deep tries.

Ray Allen is the NBA’s current 3-point king.

Ray Allen is presently the NBA’s 3-point king, but he isn’t expected to stay that way for much longer.
Allen hit 2,973 three-pointers throughout his NBA career, playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat. When he eclipsed Miller’s record in 2011, he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Overall, his best years were were in Milwaukee, where he hit 1,051 in seven seasons. During his two seasons in Miami, he also hit 869 in Seattle, 798 in Boston, and 255 in Miami. During his career, the two-time NBA champion led the league in 3-point field goals three times and hit 40 percent of his long-range attempts.
No, he won’t be the 3-point king for much longer, but Allen established himself as a shooting pioneer in the NBA and had a remarkable career as a result.
