The Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) is a collectible card game that is immensely popular and has been published since the late 90s. The TCG is one of the most widely played games in history, with over 20 million people playing competitively worldwide every year. There are eight official expansion sets for each version of the trading cards- five released before 2016 and three after- as well as many smaller additions to these sets such as holos, foils, starter decks, etc.
The “pokemon tcg online best decks 2021” is a list of the top 10 Standard decks in 2022. The list will be updated every year to make sure it stays relevant.
The 2021–2022 format in Pokemon TCG Online will be rather fascinating, with shifting formats, power creep, and a totally new game. Some older cards are also making a reappearance, with some of them even making it into the top decks. With newer and more powerful cards changing the Pokemon TCG Online meta with each expansion, figuring out what the top decks in the game will be in 2022 may be challenging.
There is only one card that can rule them all.
We didn’t include this part in our list of the top Standard decks for 2021, but if I don’t, the list will get ludicrous. Why is Inteleon in more than half of these decks when its assault isn’t really that good?
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
Answer: Inteleon isn’t only fantastic at distributing damage; it can also bring you some tasty Trainer cards at any time. No, Inteleon V from Rebel Clash isn’t in any of these decks, and they’re not just about doing damage. The two Inteleon in the picture above may be splashed into any deck, and because many newer VMAX cards need the correct Trainer Cards to be effective, this tactic is ideal. The second Inteleon is particularly stronger in decks like Dragapult-Inteleon, when you’re purposefully aiming to spread damage.
How do we rate the top ten Pokemon TCG Online decks?
The ten best decks for the Standard format in 2022 are shown below. It’s worth noting that many decks don’t have a Type advantage over one another, making it impossible to rank them. This is not a formal tier list in which one deck is superior to the next in rank, but rather a list of the ten decks that have consistently performed well in tournaments. We have the definitive meta decks at the top, the ones with the greatest win rates, and as you go down the list, you’ll discover decks that are still really powerful and perform well on the in-game ladder but aren’t definitely tournament winners.
In the year 2022, these are ten of the greatest Standard decks for Pokemon TCG Online:
Calyrex VMAX Shadow Rider
Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX is the main Pokemon, however it may also be paired with Alcremie VMAX.
What makes it great: The deck comes together swiftly and does damage according to the amount of Psychic energy you have in play. For the G-Max Whisk attack, combine Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX with Alcremie VMAX. Horror Energy is still a wonderful way to increase damage to your deck, and you have some amazing Trainer cards like Fog Crystal to make it even more effective.
VMAX Umbreon
Umbreon VMAX, Single Strike Urshifu VMAX are the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it special: Calyrex VMAX, although being one of the best decks in the format, is vulnerable to Dark decks. When you combine Umbreon with Single Strike Urshifu VMAX, you get a powerful battling attacker that can be used to battle other Dark decks like Eternatus. Umbreon has a lot of damage potential, which is aided by the fact that it’s a Single Strike card that shares Energy and Trainer cards.
Inteleon + Dragapult VMAX
Dragapult VMAX is the main Pokemon, and Dragapult Inteleon is the main deck.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Using Dragapult VMAX’s Max Phantom attack and Inteleon’s Aqua Bullet and Quick Shooting attacks, this deck tries to distribute damage across the board. You may also boost your damage using Horror Energy and Scoop Up (+Galarian Zigzagoon). Scoop Up may also be used to devolve your Inteleon so that you can utilize its Ability once again.
Urshifu VMAX Rapid Strike
Urshifu VMAX (Rapid Strike Urshifu) is the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it special: The 2021 rotation hasn’t had much of an impact on this deck. Urshifu, while being a newer card, is still rather excellent and works nicely with Medicham V and Inteleon. Urshifu, on the other hand, is sensitive to Psychic, making it vulnerable to the popular Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX.
VMAX Eternatus
Eternatus VMAX, Crobat V, and Umbreon VMAX are the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Because Eternatus VMAX decks don’t depend on Dedenne-GX, they survived the 2021 Rotation, and Crobat V is still allowed in Standard. Eternatus effectively increases the size of your Bench and allows you to do damage dependent on how many Pokemon you have in play. You also have Umbreon VMAX in the deck, and Dark types are a solid counter against Shadow Rider Calyrex decks in the 2022 format. Eternatus is without a doubt one of the finest decks ever seen in the Pokemon TCG Online.
Inteleon + Leafeon VMAX
Leafeon VMAX and Inteleon are the two main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Leafeon VMAX combines nicely with the Galar Mine Stadium card, which boosts both Pokemon’s Retreat Cost, enabling Leafeon’s Grass Knot to inflict greater damage. Although Leon and Inteleon may assist you enhance damage, the deck is rather simple, and having a Fire weakness in a meta where no one is utilizing Fire decks is advantageous.
Inteleon + Jolteon VMAX
Jolteon VMAX and Inteleon are the two main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Elemental Badge is used to reduce the cost of Jolteon’s attacks, while Path to the Peak is used to scrape off your opponent’s abilities. Max Thunder Rumble works nicely with Inteleon, Galarian Zigzagoon, and Scoop Up for dispersing damage. The deck’s sole flaw is that it is poor against Urshifu owing to Type-disadvantage.
Calyrex VMAX Ice Rider
Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX is the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Because of its type, Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX works nicely with Inteleon in addition to having a high damage potential. It isn’t quite as powerful or consistent as Shadow Rider Calyrex, but it’s still a nice card that performs well in tournaments.
Inteleon/Ludicolo + Suicune V
Suicune V, Inteleon, and/or Lucicolo are the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Suicune V is an excellent counter to Eternatus, and Melony can swiftly set it up with the help of Ludicolo. Suicune’s ability to be a 2-Prizer helps this deck a lot, and after you have your Ludicolo set up, you’ll be able to grab some easy VMAX knock-outs with it.
VMAX Sylveon
Sylveon VMAX, Blaziken VMAX, Octillery, and Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX are the main Pokemon.
The Pokemon Company provided this image.
What makes it great: Despite the fact that this deck does not hard-counter anything in the meta, it is rather powerful, thanks to its Octillery engine and Early Dream Gifts setup. Max Harmony, a card from Sylveon VMAX, benefits from having several varieties of Pokemon, hence it was designed to be utilized in a deck with diversity. It’s more of a toolbox deck that can win in certain matchups, but it suffers from having too many choices and isn’t as consistent as other Eeveelution or Inteleon-based strategies.
Endnote
Welcome to Inteleon’s reign, a card that the meta had written off in the 2020/21 format. This year’s list of the greatest Pokemon TCG Online decks is significantly more balanced, entertaining, and includes a nice diversity of cards than previous year’s. You would have laughed at me if I had projected a non-V/VMAX/GX Stage 2 card to be one of the best cards in 2022 a year ago. Honestly? I’ll gladly accept it. Anything is better than last year’s overpowering cards, and I’m sure most of us are relieved that ADP/Z is dead.
